Wildcats fall in double header

The Florala Wildcats had a hard time getting things going as the fell to Highland Home and Goshen on Saturday in Highland Home.

In the opening game of the day, the Flying Squadron took an early lead and cruised to an 11-1 victory.
Highland Home got on the board first with four runs in the bottom of the first inning.
The Flying Squadron added to their lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning.
Florala kept Highland Home off of the scoreboard in the bottom of the third inning, but the Flying Squadron put up a five spot in the bottom of the fourth inning.
In the top of the fourth inning, Hunter Adams drove in Jacob Hammac for the Wildcats’ lone run of the game.
Dylan Hobby, Caleb Wood, Nealand Stone, Adams and Hammac picked up one hit each.
GOSHEN 8,
FLORALA 0
In the second game of the day, the Wildcats put up a fight, but fell 8-0 to Goshen.
On the mound for the Wildcats, Hammac kept Goshen off of the scoreboard in the first two innings.
The Wildcats weren’t able to get much going on offense as they picked up just three hits in the game.
Justin Paul, Hogan Hughes and Hammac each collected one hit in the game.
Hammac struck out five, walked three, allowed one hit and one earned run.
