BULLDOGS HOLD OFF TIGERS: Andalusia uses big hits to down T.R. Miller

The Andalusia Bulldogs bounced back from Monday’s loss to knock off the T.R. Miller Tigers 5-3 on Tuesday in Brewton.
Andalusia got things going early with a leadoff single from Gill Morgan.
Garrett Davis followed with a sacrifice bunt down the first-base line to move G. Morgan into scoring position.
Hogan Nichols then drove a 1-1 pitch into left for a double that put Andalusia up 1-0.
Chip Morgan picked up a two-out single, but was thrown out attempting to steal second.
Brennan Strong got the start on the mound and struck out the first batter in the bottom of the first inning on his way to a 1-2-3 frame.
In the bottom of the second inning, Strong got the first batter to ground out before giving up a single and a walk.
With runners on first and second with one out, Strong came up big as he struck out the next to batters to end the threat.
G. Morgan got the top of third inning started with an infield single.
G. Morgan moved to second on an error and to third on a balk by the T.R. Miller pitcher.
From there, Nichols picked up his second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to left field.
Jacob Cravey and C. Morgan followed with back-to-back doubles to give Andalusia a 3-0 cushion.
C. Morgan later scored to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead.
Strong continued to pick up steam on the mound as he sat the Tigers down in order in the bottom of the third inning.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Strong looked unhittable as he struck out the side in order to keep the Bulldogs up 4-0.
C. Morgan came around to score in the top of the sixth inning to put Andalusia up 5-0.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Tigers made a charge as the plated three runs.
They had the bases loaded before the Bulldogs were able to pick up the third out to end the game.
G. Morgan, Nichols, Cravey, C. Morgan and J.W. Jones each picked up two hits in the game.
Strong earned the win on the mound after going five innings with seven strikeouts.
