We are excited about the Women’s March in Andalusia on January 19 beginning at 1:00 p.m. on the square. This coincides with women’s marches across the country. Andalusia was the first city in Alabama to announce the local march. All women and men who are concerned about women’s issues are invited to attend.

The Women’s March is not sponsored by any political group but rather a women-led movement bringing together people of all genders, ages, races, cultures, political affiliations, disabilities,and backgrounds to encourage our shared humanity. Everyone is welcomed to express their views and opinions through family-friendly posters.

As mothers, sisters, daughters, and contributing members of this great nation, we seek to break barriers to equal pay, independence, inclusion, and the full enjoyment of citizenship at home and around the world. Women contribute to all aspects of American life, economy, and culture and should be recognized as equal and influential citizens.
