Red Level wins girls county title

The Red Level Lady Tigers won the Covington County crown after defeating Straughn 31-27 on Thursday in Florala.
Red Level came out strong and went up 9-2 when Liz Cross buried a 3-pointer.
Summer Beverly added two points to help Red Level go up 11-7 at the end of the first.
Cross hit anther 3-pointer to start the second period, but buckets from Ora Hall and Hallie Stokes help Straughn cut the lead to 18-15 at halftime.
Both teams continued to battle it out in the second half, but Cross and Stokes were able to lift Red Level to the a 31-27 victory.
“I’m of the effort they gave and how they played,” Red Level head coach Allen Catrett said. “I’m not surprised. They played good all year and I’ve seen girls get better all season. They finished the year undefeated.”
