Writer: Burned house wasn’t abandoned

This letter is to the editor of The Andalusia Star-News paper.

I am writing in response to a story that ran in your paper on Jan. 30, 2018.

The story was about a house fire at 214 Allen Ave. in Andalusia. It was reported in your article this property was abandoned. This statement was not correct, D3 LLC is the owner of that property and has been for the past nine years. Taxes have been paid yearly and was for sale a month or two before the fire.

It was reported that the fire started in the kitchen. The condition of the house suggests the house was burned with some kind of torch. Or someone splashing some type of flammable substance on the walls and setting it on fire.

There is a big hole in the living room floor suggesting maybe a torch of some kind.

I never got a written report from the state fie marshal. I was never told who reported the property abandoned.
