There are 33 bands scheduled to participate in the 38th annual Little Big Horn band competition in Opp today, Sat., Oct. 20, 2018.

The competition brings the second-largest crowd to Opp each year, just behind the annual Rattlesnake Rodeo.

Little Big Horn is a major fundraiser for the Opp High School Band Boosters.

Local bands performing include Straughn High School, at 12:15 p.m., and Andalusia High School at 7:40 p.m.

With more bands this year than in recent years, the schedule is divided with an awards ceremony prior to the supper break, and a second one after the final competition.

There will be two exhibition bands: Opp High School at 5 p.m., and the UMRam Corps at 9 p.m.
