Golden Knights to perform

Entertainment finalized for November airshow
Both the Army Golden Knights and a US. Coast Guard team will be among the performers for thye South Alabama Airshow, Thunder Over Alabama, set for November.
South Alabama Regional Airport Director Jed Blackwell told airport authority members last week that a number of businesses have agreed to sponsor the show, and sponsors are still being solicited.
It’s the first airshow SARA has hosted since 2010, when the event was timed to coincide with Andalusia’s celebration of the Year of Small towns and Hometowns.
The Golden Knights will headline the show, which also honors former Speaker of the House Seth Hammett. Hammett has agreed to parachute with the Golden Knights.
Other performers include Skip Stewart (Pitts S-2S); Gary Ward (MX2); Lee Leet (Tacano); Aeroshell Aerobatic Team (T-6); the U.S. Coast Guard; US Coast Guard
Jerry Conley (DH-115 Vampire); and Greg Koontz and the Alabama Boys.
In addition to the sky performers, there will be live music, food vendors, arts and crafts, and children’s activities all day.
Admission to the event is free. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. on Sat., Nov. 17, 2018., and aerial performances begin at noon. The show continues until 5 p.m.
