Andalusia High School and Andalusia Junior High School are no longer on lockdown, Superintendent Ted Watson reported at 3:25 p.m.

The schools were placed on lockdown at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after the Andalusia Police Dept. received a call about a gunshot in the area surrounding Andalusia High School. Officers combed the area and were unable to determine if an actual shot was fired, a spokesman for the APD said.

ASuperintendent Ted Watson said there is no indication that anyone on campus had been threatened or was in danger; however, the schools followed their protocols to ensure the safety of all students.
