A crash in Gantt left three construction workers with minor injuries on Friday.
The Gantt Area Fire and Rescue was dispatched at 12 p.m. to Cypress Landing where a construction truck went airborne into the ditch and 150 feet in the woods.
“They entered the ditch at around the Cypress Landing sign, kept going, took out a light pole and went airborne into the woods,” Scott Fight, the Fire Chief said.
“When we asked how it happened, the driver said that he thought he was hitting the brake but he said he might’ve been hitting the gas.”
Fight said the vehicle stopped merely inches away from a big oak tree.
“All I can say is that those guys were very lucky,” he said.
Fight said the men all left with minor injuries, with one being transported the Andalusia Health for cuts on his head.
