The Straughn Tigers hope continued improvement after successfully going through spring football practice.
“Other than having to deal with some injuries we had a good spring,” Straughn head coach John Higgins said. “We are getting better. This year we are stronger and more athletic.”
Higgins said the Tigers now shift their focus to summer practice.
“We will have about a week off and then get in here for an important summer,” Higgins said. “We have a lot of starters back on defense and that should be our strong suit.”
Straughn will open the season on Aug. 24 at home against Headland and then travel to St. James in second week of the season.
