The Andalusia Bulldogs (9-4-1) are set for another deep run into the postseason as they host Faith Academy (17-6-2) today in Andalusia for the first round of the Class 4A-5A state playoffs.
“We just have to keep playing like we have been playing,” Andalusia head coach Jarrett Williamson said. “We have to play hard and play together and just keep building off what we have been doing the past few games.”
Last season, the Bulldogs stunned the state with a dramatic run to the state semifinals.
The last time Andalusia and Faith Academy played was in the 2016 when Faith Academy knocked the Bulldogs out of the playoffs in the first round.
“They are a solid team that has played a strong schedule,” Williamson said. “These types of games come down whichever team can handle the emotions of a first round game.”
Williamson said the players are ready for the challenge.
“These guys have been pretty relaxed this week,” Williamson said. “They are excited and ready to go.”
Andalusia and Faith Academy will play at 5 p.m., today at the Kiwanis Center.
