Bellawood Homes will come to Andalusia as soon as early May.

Kevin and Bobby Patel will bring eight garden homes for people to purchase.

“It started out as an idea of how we could build something that would benefit the community,” Patel said. “We are not in it to make money, we just want people to have a great place to live.”

The garden homes will be located on the corner of East Watson Street and Stanley Avenue. They will be 1,800 square feet and will have three bedrooms and two baths.

“I started noticing that there are no new homes for people to rent,” Mrs. Patel said. “So I wanted to put a modern touch to it like placing more electrical outlets for residents, because technology is such a necessity now.”

Patel said that there will be no maintenance fees, and there will be natural or electrical gas available.

“We want to make everything as custom as possible,” Patel said. “So the resident gets to choose how they want to customize their house. We will be willing to do the extra work to make sure each resident is as pleased as possible.”

The couple is taking the approach to building these houses as if it were their own homes.

“When I think about it, I think about what I would want in a house,” Mrs. Patel said. “Our names are out there so we want to make it as amazing as we can. If we were just in this for the money then we would not care about custom cabinets, granite countertops or the color scheme of appliances, but we care about the people that will live there and want to give them an option of what they would like.”

Patel said they are looking to keep the price of the house in the low hundred thousand and they already have five candidates looking at the homes.

The construction company helping build the homes is Cassady Construction.

“They are the most honest and hardest working people we have ever worked with,” Patel said. “It is like working with family.”
