BULLDOGS THUMPING: Wilson homers twice to rout Warriors

The Andalusia Bulldogs had their bats going as they thumped the Dale County Warriors 12-7 on Tuesday night in Andalusia.
Dale County started strong and took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
In the bottom of the first inning, Ethan Wilson singled and then came around to score on a double from Garrett Davis.
Hogan Nichols then drove in Davis with a fielder’s choice.
On the mound for the Bulldogs, Jacob Cravey worked a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the second.
Gill Morgan doubled with two outs to get things going for Andalusia in the bottom of the second inning
Ethan Wilson then put the Bulldogs out front when he launched a mammoth home run over the fence in right field.
Dale County came right back in the top of the third inning and scored a pair of runs off of a double to take a 5-4 lead.
J.W. Jones started the bottom of the fourth inning with a walk and moved to second on bunt single from Cravey.
G. Morgan then moved the runners to second and third with sacrifice.
With first base open, the Warriors opted to intentionally walk Wilson.
Davis followed with a two-run single to put the Bulldogs back on top.
Nichols then drove in Wilson with a sacrifice fly.
In the top of the fifth, Dale County scored one run, but still trailed the Bulldogs 7-6.
Andalusia added to their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jones drove in Chip Morgan with a bunt single.
With runners on first and third, Dale County elected to pitch to Wilson with two outs.
That turned out to be a mistake by the Warriors as Wilson launched a three-run shot to put the Bulldogs up 11-6.
Andalusia added another run in the top of the fifth when Sebaskin Stallworth came around to score off of an error.
Andalusia and Dale County will play a doubleheader Thursday in Midland City.
If Andalusia wins either game, the Bulldogs will be area champions.
