Battling to the bitter finish

The LBWCC Lady Saints put up a strong fight, but fell 6-4 to Coastal Alabama North on Thursday.
Coastal North got a single to start the game and then a one-out single put them on top 1-0.
Jessica Dickson led off the bottom of the first inning with a single, but was unable to come around to score.
In the bottom of the second inning, L Fox singled to start the frame.
Betsy Powell singled with two outs, but the Lady Saints were unable to push either runner around to score.
Summer Simmons reached on a one-out error in the bottom of the third inning.
Katy Cotton then tied the game when she drove in Simmons with a double to left field.
Coastal North retook the lead in the top of the fourth inning when a runner came around to score off of an error.
Ashley McKeown got things rolling for the Lady Saints when she tripled with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Dickson followed with a single center field that allowed McKeown to score with ease.
In the bottom of the fifth, Natalie Aplin reached third off of a error to put the Lady Saints in prime position.
Fox then drove in Aplin with a fielder’s choice to put the Lady Saints up 3-2.
Coastal North then added a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning to go up 4-3.
Coastal North added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Alexis Wyatt drove in Cotton for the final run of the game in the bottom of the seventh.
