Straughn Lady Tigers fall to Slocomb

The Straughn Lady Tigers put up a strong fight, but fell to the Slocomb Lady Redtops 6-1 on Tuesday night in Straughn.
Straughn’s Dallas Mackoff got the first Slocomb batter to ground out, but then a walk and error got things rolling for the Lady Redtops.
Slocomb scored one run off the error and then a second run came around to score on a single to center field.
Mackoff then struck out the next batter and got a pop out to center.
Mackoff singled to start the bottom of the first inning and moved around to third, but the Lady Tigers were unable to bring her around to score.
The score remained 2-0 until the top of the fourth inning.
The Lady Redtops doubled to start the fourth inning and later scored on a sacrifice bunt to go on top 3-0.
Allie Hawkins walked to start the bottom of the fourth inning and then moved around to third on sacrifice bunts from Madison Harrison and Caroline Woods.
Hawkins then came around to score on a single from Emily Ray.
The Lady Redtops added three runs in the seventh inning.
