The First Baptist Church of Andalusia recently welcome their new pastor, Kevin Wilburn, to the community.
Wilburn is from Tennessee and was recently the University of Mobile’s vice president for development.
He earned a bachelor of science from the University of Mobile, a master’s in Christian education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and recently completed the doctoral program for ministry leadership at Mid western Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is an ordained pastor with extensive experience in church leadership, including as senior pastor at Southside Baptist Church of Opp, First Baptist Church Scottsboro, and Cullman First Baptist Church.
Wilburn has also traveled for speaking engagements all across the southeast and has worked with Scott Dawson on his campaign for governor.
“I think the biggest reward from being a pastor is getting to see people that are disconnected from Christ restore their life with Him,” Wilburn said.
Wilburn said he loves the community atmosphere in Andalusia. His wife, Amanda, has grandparents who live in Andalusia, so for the Wilburn family, it’s already familiar place.
“I want the people to know one thing, and it is that the church and I truly care about you and we want you to come experience Christ with us,” Wilburn said.
The Wilburns have one son, Levi.
