Eagles start year with win over Florala

The Pleasant Home Eagles (1-0) rallied in the final two innings to knock off the Florala Wildcats (1-1) 3-2 on Thursday night in Florala.
Florala’s Jacob Hammac opened up the game with a strikeout as he worked a 1-2-3 first inning.
In the bottom of the first, Logan West reached first with a walk.
West the stole second and moved to third on a ground out by Caleb Wood.
Hammac then came through with a double to score West and give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.
The score remained 1-0 until the top of the sixth inning.
Josh Hawkins reached first by drawing a walk and then advanced to third on an error.
Nic Woods then reached after being hit by a pitch.
J Walker the grounded out to shortstop, but it allowed Hawkins to score the tying run.
Mason Kelley followed with a single to put runners on the corners.
Florala then committed an error that allowed Woods to came around to score to put Pleasant Home on top 2-1.
In the bottom of the sixth, Wood came through with a one-out double.
Hammac followed with his second double of the game as Wood came across with ease to tie the game 2-2 heading into the final frame.
Grant Barton drew a walk to start the top of the seventh and then moved to second on a wild pitch.
Barton moved to third on a steal and scored on a wild pitch to give the Eagles a 3-2 victory.
Jake Walker picked up the Eagles’ only RBI of the game.
Florala out hit Pleasant Home 5-2.
