The public is invited to attend the awards presentation for the Youth Art Competition sponsored by the Lower Alabama Arts Coalition on Thurs., Feb. 22, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The presentation will be held at The Gallery, on East Three Notch Street, followed by a reception.

The competition was open to any student from grades 4, 8, and 12, in areas of painting, drawing, and sculpture. Cash awards will be made for 1^st and 2^nd prizes in each category and grade level. Students competed only against those in their grade level. In addition, a $500 cash tuition scholarship will be presented to a senior student as the Best in Show. The scholarship is given by sponsors LAAC and the CCB Community Bank.

All winning pieces will remain on exhibit at the Gallery and will then be placed on exhibit at CCB.
