The Covington County Child Advocacy Center is taking orders for its spring lunch box sale.

Kaci Perry, director of the center, said that the fall box lunch sale was the best sale the center has had, with more than 1,100 box lunches sold.

“Any money we make from this goes directly back into the center,” Perry said.

“The center provides forensic interviews and counseling sessions for child abuse victims at not cost to the families.”

Perry says that there is a regular flow of customers every year.

“It’s usually around the same number of people who order so we base our supplies off of that,” she said.

The spring sale doesn’t make as much as the fall sale, Perry said.

“We expect to sell just under 1,000 boxes in the spring,” she said

Perry said all volunteers are welcome.

“We fix up the boxes usually the day before. We will start on Feb. 6 at 9 a.m. Volunteers are always welcome,” she said.

The lunch sale is set for Wed., Feb. 7. Pick-up will be at Southside Baptist Church or delivery will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The cost is $10 per box and donations are welcome.

The box includes Chicken Shack chicken salad, a fresh fruit bowl, pickles, a baked yeast roll, dessert, a bag of chips and a surprise.

The deadline to order is Fri., Feb. 2.
