HOMECOMING VICTORIES: Pleasant Home routs Kinston Bulldogs

The Pleasant Home Eagles pulled off a pair of big wins on Friday night over the Kinston Bulldogs in Pleasant Home.
GIRLS
PLEASANT HOME 55, KINSTON 25
In the opening varsity match, the Lady Eagles powered out front and cruised to a 55-25 homecoming victory.
Hope Gunter came up big in the second period as she knocked down three 3-pointers to help give the Lady Eagles a 26-11 lead at halftime.
The Lady Eagles continued to surge in the third period with River Baldwin and Amy Kate Bulger each chipping in six points.
Amy Garner tacked on four points to help give the Lady Eagles a 42-20 lead heading into the final frame.
Daisy Cordle led the way in the final period with four points push the Lady Eagles to a 55-25 victory.
Baldwin led the Lady Eagles with 16 points.
BOYS
PLEASANT HOME 59, KINSTON 47
The Eagles came storming out from the opening tip off and held on to defeat the Bulldogs 59-47.
After Kinston got the first bucket of the game, the Eagles began to surge.
Robert Scott drained three 3-pointers in the opening frame to put the Eagles on top 21-10 heading into the second period.
The scoring cooled a little in the second period, but the Eagles still held a 30-21 advantage going into halftime.
In the third period, Nick Woods carried the Eagles with six points and helped build a 44-30 lead heading into the final period.
Woods continued his strong efforts in the final period as he picked up six more points to pace the Eagles.
Austin Kelley picked up five points in the final period to help Pleasant Home emerge with a 59-47 victory.
Woods led the Eagles with 17 points.
Scott finished the night with 15 points.
Austin Kelley tacked on 11 points and Tyler Myrick added 10 points.
