Communication director for Roby has county roots

Emily Taylor-Johnson has been promoted to communications director in the Washington, D.C., office of U.S. Rep. Martha Roby (R-AL)
Taylor-Johnson is a Prattville native, but has deep Covington County ties. She is the daughter of Covington County natives Vernon and Lisa (Thomasson) Taylor, and the granddaughter of Charlotte Kelley Thomasson and Edy Taylor.
Taylor-Johnson previously served as press secretary in Rep. Roby’s office. Prior to joining Roby’s staff, she served as deputy press secretary, press assistant, and staff assistant for U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, R-AL. She earned degrees in political science and communications from the College of Charleston.
“I’ve made it a priority to surround myself with a first-class team focused on serving the needs of my constituents and advancing the values of Alabama’s Second Congressional District,” Roby said. “Emily has played an integral role in our work to achieve these goals.”
