Letter: Offer your ecoanxiety to God

Dear editor:
I thoroughly enjoyed Gary Smith’s column about “Beans instead of Beef” in your December 30, 2017 edition. As our society moves further from God, toward self-sufficiency (we are gods and can fix anything), the discussion of “problems and solutions” becomes more ludicrous.
The issue of climate change was put to rest about 3,000 years ago by God. Read Genesis 8:22—
All the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night, shall not cease. (New American Bible Revised Edition)
Philippians 4:6 tells us “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything” (New Living Translation).
So, offer up your ecoanxiety to God and apologize for your lack of faith, and you will be forgiven. A good manual to follow for how to live your life is the Book of James. Read it every day and apply it. This, more than increased legume consumption, will go a long way toward saving the world.
