Pleasant Home sweeps Red Level

The Pleasant Home Eagles pulled off a clean sweep over the Red Level Tigers on Thursday night in Red Level.
GIRLS
PLEASANT HOME 53, RED LEVEL 12
The No. 4-ranked Pleasant Home Lady Eagles started hot and stormed out to a 53-12 victory over the Lady Tigers.
River Baldwin quickly got the Lady Eagles out front with nine points in the opening frame
Hope Gunter added five points with a layup and 3-pointer to help the Lady Eagles to a 16-2 lead at the end of the first period.
Lady Eagles’ junior Baldwin had a career night pulling down 20 rebounds.
Baldwin, a Florida State basketball commit, was also the leading scorer as she finished with 32 points.
Gunter tacked on nine points for the Lady Eagles.
Natalie Feagin led the Lady Tigers with six points.
BOYS
PLEASANT HOME 53, RED LEVEL 44
The Pleasant Home Eagles needed overtime, but were able to come away with a 53-44 victory over the Red Level Tigers.
Both teams started strong, but it was the Eagles who held an 11-9 advantage at the end of the first period. Austin Kelley led the Eagles with four points in the opening period.
Chance Russell led the Tiger efforts in the first period with five points.
In the second period, it was tick-for-tack again with the Eagles carrying a 23-19 advantage into halftime.
Robert Scott and Tyler Myrick each had four points to pace the Eagles in the second period.
Matthew Coleman finished the period with six points and Russell added four points for the Tigers.
Scott came out strong in the third period and knocked down a pair of 3-pointers on his way to seven points in the period.
Russell continued his big night with six points and Coleman added four points, but Red Level still trailed 38-32 heading into the fourth period.
Things didn’t go very well for the Eagles in the fourth period as they managed just three points and left the door wide open for the Tigers to charge.
Coleman put the Tigers on his back in the fourth period and accounted for eight points to help Red Level tie the game 41-41 at the end of regulation.
In overtime, it was the Eagles turn to fire up the defense as they limited Red Level to just three points in extra time as they rolled to a 53-44 win.
Scott led the Eagles with 12 points.
Coleman led the Tigers with 19 points and Russell added 18 points.
