Eagles, Tigers win county tourney

The Pleasant Home Eagles boys and Straughn Middle School girls clinched titles in Thursday night’s Covington County Championship Tournament at Fleeta.
In the seventh grade boys action, the Pleasant Home Eagles (7-2) came away with a 35-31 overtime victory over Straughn Middle School.
Pleasant Home’s (11-2) eighth graders clinched the title after defeating Straughn Middle School 32-26 in overtime.
“Great exciting games,” Pleasant Home head coach Troy Turman said. “My junior high teams are pretty good.”
In junior high girls action, the Straughn Middle School girls defeated Pleasant Home 27-26.
This was Straughn Middle School’s third-straight Covington County championship.
