Members of the Pilot Club of Andalusia have their aprons ready and spatulas ready for their annual pancake and sausage day this Saturday. They’ll have the griddle busy from 5:30 a.m. until noon.
Club members typically serve their made-from-scratch pancakes to more than 1,000 people during the annual fundraiser.
The crew has already begun working to get things ready for Saturday’s feast.
The event will be held at the Kiwanis Community Center.
Cost is $7 for an all-you-can eat breakfast, and tickets are available at the door.
Proceeds go to benefit many charities in Covington County the Pilot Club helps sponsor.
The main charity to which the club contributes is a partnership with the Covington County Sheriff’s Department for Project Lifesaver.
Project Lifesaver provides free, personalized wristbands with radio transmitters to individuals who are considered at risk for wandering.
Additionally, the Pilot Club of Andalusia supplies helmets for the children who receive bicycles at the annual Andalusia Community Christmas in an effort to prevent brain injuries.
