An airshow planned for the South Alabama Regional Airport a year from now is hoped to attract as many as 20,000 to the community, SARA director Jed Blackwell said.

The show, set for Nov. 17, 2018, will feature the Army Golden Knights, among other performers.

“Since the 2010 airshow, we have added perimeter fencing,” Blackwell said. “There will be a nominal fee to enter next year.”

Blackwell said he hopes 2018 will be the first of many successful air shows, and that major musical acts can be added to the planned activities.
