The Enterprise Police Department is conducting an investigation into the death of a 2-year-old child on Nov. 9.

EPD released a press release on Nov. 14, which said they initiated the investigation after responding to a medical call in Sunny South Trailer Park at 1:15 p.m., on Nov. 9.

Police said that responding EPD officers and emergency medical personnel discovered a 2-year-old child was unresponsive inside a residence.

The child was immediately transported to the hospital, but died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Two other children from the same residence were transported to the hospital for treatment.

One child was treated and released locally and the other child is still in an undisclosed hospital.

The names of the victims have not been released, but family friends say two of the children have Covington County ties.

The department’s statement said its Criminal Investigations Division is conducting the death investigation and no further information is being released at this time.
