The Florala Wildcats and Pleasant Home Eagles are pumped up for their Class 1A, Region 2 battle tonight in Pleasant Home.
“This is a big game for us,” Florala head coach Scott Mason said. “Pleasant Home is a good team that is well coach and we know that we are going to have our hands full.”
Mason said that he has been encouraged by the way his team has played.
“We played them in the preseason and that basically ended in a draw,” Mason said. “At that time, we hadn’t found ourselves. That’s encouraging because we have really been clicking on offense the past few weeks. We are further along at this point then I thought we would be.”
Pleasant Home head coach Richard Mercer agreed that it’s going to be a huge game for both teams.
“This is as big of game that we have had in the four years I’ve been here,” Mercer said. “It’s going to be pretty evenly matched, and the kids are excited to play Florala no matter what the records might be.”
Mercer said he knows that it’s going to be a hard-fought game.
“They are really playing well right now,” Mercer said of Florala. “They have a big quarterback that can sling the ball around the field. We are going to have to dial up pressure, but we know that’s going to be a tall order.”
