The Pleasant Home Eagles put up a strong fight on Friday night, but fell 41-6 on the road to Houston County.
“We came out and hit them in the mouth, but they pulled away in the second half,” Pleasant Home head coach Richard Mercer said. “They are a really good team. They are probably just as good as Brantley and Georgiana.”
There wasn’t much action in the first quarter as both defenses kept the offenses in check.
Houston County added a score late in the first.
“Honestly, I felt like we outplayed them, but they had a few big plays that hurt us,” Mercer said. “They are so good at forcing turnovers and scooping and scoring. They had one tonight where the guy just took it out our guy’s hands and went into the end zone. We had a couple of miscues and they jumped on us.”
Nic Woods scored Pleasant Home’s only touchdown.
