Public lake closing temporarily; applications for manager sought

Leon Brooks Hines (Escambia County) Public Fishing Lake will temporarily close on Oct. 1, 2017, due to the resignation of the lake manager. The Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) will begin accepting applications for the position immediately.
The lake manager position is contracted with the State of Alabama for a three-year term, which is renewable at the discretion of the state. Duties include the sale of fishing licenses and permits, grounds maintenance, store management and other related responsibilities. An investment is required to meet the initial needs of daily operations.
