SHS grad leads team to win

Former Straughn Tiger Rollin Kinsaul got his first start on Saturday as he helped the Southeastern Savage Strom improve to 3-0 with a 41-35 victory over Ouachita Baptist on the road in Arkadelphia, Ark.
“The preparation was the biggest part for me,” Kinsaul said after the game. “I have to give credit to the quarterback coach who had me ready coming in. We got off to a hot start and maybe didn’t move the ball like we always wanted to, but still came out with the win.”
Kinsaul got the first Savage Storm touchdown when he scrambled in from 4 yards out.
Ouachita answered with a long drive and touchdown to regain the lead.
Kinsaul quickly tied the game up when he connected with Ryan Ronces for a 79-yard touchdown to one the first play of the next drive to tie the game.
In the second quarter, Kinsaul found the end zone on 9-yard run to give the Savage Storm a 28-14 lead.
The win over the Ouachita Baptist was the first for the Savage Storm in more than a decade.
With the win, the Savage Storm (3-0) are off to their best start since 2002.
Kinsaul finished the game with 231 yards passing and one touchdown. He also rushed for 19 yards and two touchdowns.
