Emergency information for Floridians sheltering in Alabama

Covington County EMA director Susan Harris provided the following information for Florida residents who have evacuated to Alabama and have storm damage or need other assistance.
FEMA
- Residents who sustained losses can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
- Residents are also encouraged to download the FEMA App to begin the registration process. Simply click on Disaster Resources.
- If you do not have access to the internet, you may register by calling 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-621-FEMA.
- The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.
