Police locate car in Elba

Florala Police tracked down the car Monday morning that was allegedly driven by a man accused of shooting his girlfriend Friday morning.

FPD received a call around 9:45 a.m., Friday, about a female who had been shot on 7^th Avenue.

Her name was not released, but she said that she was shot by her boyfriend, Alex Daniels.

The woman was sent to the hospital as Daniels, the woman’s long-time boyfriend, fled in what Florala Police Chief Sonny Bedsole said was a, “bluish, gray 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, four door car.”

The car was found in an apartment complex parking lot in Elba, but there was no sign of Daniels, Bedsole said. “We are actively looking and have a couple of leads.”

Bedsole said Daniels is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Daniels is facing domestic violence first degree charges.
