Lisa Patterson, member of the Luncheon Pilot Club of Andalusia, has been elected to serve as a director on the executive committee of Pilot International.

As director, Patterson will serve as executive committee representative (ECR) to the Midwest and Kansas-Missouri Districts plus other Pilot International duties as needed through June 2018.

Elected during the Pilot International Annual Convention & Leadership Conference held in Las Vegas, she was one of almost 600 Pilots participating in the global event that drew representatives from more than four countries and geographic areas around the world.

Convention highlights included a spectacular Flag Ceremony with Pilots from around the world marching along with their country’s flag. Convention attendees attended workshops, learned about important issues facing communities globally, elected international officers, voted on the 2017-2018 Pilot International Budget and helped set the future direction for Pilot International.

“I’m honored to serve this vital organization as director, ” Patterson said.

This year during the convention, Anchors participated in an outreach program with “Three Square” while Pilots partnered with “Clean the World.”

Anchor Clubs began in 1952 and today number more than 7,000 worldwide with new clubs and members being added monthly.

“It was exciting to gather with so many Pilots and Anchors from other countries. It’s a great reminder that Pilots and Anchors are not only making a difference in our local communities, but also around the world,” said Patterson.

Pilot’s mission is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world by coming together in friendship giving people an outlet for service. Their focus is to prepare youth for service, encourage brain safety and health and support those who care for others.

Patterson joined Pilot in 2005, holding several officer positions in her club and on the district level leading to Alabama District Governor in 2015-2016 and Pilot International Leadership Coordinator in 2016-2017.
