Opp Police made an arrest in a months-long investigation into a missing bank deposit at Pizza Hut.

Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald said that investigators arrested Debra L. Lovetto, 45, of Opp on theft of property third charges on Wednesday.

The bank deposit was missing from Feb. 16.

Assistant Chief Kevin Chance said that a report was filed on March 7 in reference to the missing bank deposit in the amount of $652.03.

“Ms. Lovetto, who was the manager at the time, along with other employees were interviewed by investigators with the Opp Police Department in reference to the missing bank deposit with all saying they had no knowledge of the whereabouts of the missing deposit,” Chance said. “On July 8, D-shift officers were at Ms. Lovetto’s residence on an unrelated matter, when officers located a money bag containing the missing deposit slip in the amount of $652.03 in her closet.”

Chance said warrants were issued on Lovetto a Class D felony.
