Golfing for the Crimson Tide

The University Alabama  Covington County Alumni Association had many golfer come out to participate annual golf tournament on Monday at Andalusia Country Club.

More than 40 golfers were on hand to compete in the three-person scramble tournament.

In the first flight, the team of Martin Clifton, Alex Short and Aaron Barton took home the championship.

The team of Mark Chambers, Dee Catrett and Mike O’Neil came in second place in the first flight.

The team of Michael Smith, Dale Crowe and Ricky Willis finished in third place in the first flight.

In the second flight, the team of Jeff, Josh and Jason Sellers finished in first place.

The team of Hunter Grimes, David Padgett and Dale Outlaw finished in second place in the second flight.

Rounding out the top three in the second flight was the team of Mark Parker, Bert Champion and Ricky Smith.

For individual awards, Alex Short was the winner of the long drive competition.

Jack McCallman was closest to the pin on hole No. 9, and John Wells was closest to pin on hole No. 5.

After the tournament, the golfers enjoyed a tailgate style buffet dinner and listened to UA football’s creative director Johnathan King give a speech.
