Halcotte DeMarr Curry

Mr. Halcotte DeMarr Curry, age 88, formerly of Red Level, passed away Sun., June 11, 2017, at his residence in Montgomery. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thurs., June 15, at Fairmount Cemetery in Red Level. A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia Cannon Curry of Montgomery; sons, Joe Glenn Curry of Red Level and Garel DeMarr Curry of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Curry and Charles Close of Montgomery; grandchildren, Jason Close, Jeff Close, Amelia Close Campbell, and Jessica Curry Thomas; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jason Close, Charles Close, Junior Curry, Terry Ballew, and Mickey Cannon.

William Joseph Burgess

William Joseph Burgess, (1929-2017), a former Andy High footballer, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2017, from cancer. Mr. Burgess was born in Andalusia and attended Andalusia High School. He attended college for a year in Mississippi before being drafted into the Korean War.

After his service to the country, he was employed by the federal government in the civilian branch of the Air Force. He worked in both Mobile and San Antonio, Texas, before retiring to the north Georgia mountains

Mr Burgess is survived by his wife, Darthie Bowman Burgess of Blue Ridge, Ga.; and his son, William Christopher Burgess of Atlanta.

A celebration of life will be held at a date to be announced.

Ms. Peggy Lee Castleberry of Andalusia, passed away Tues., June 13, at her residence. She was 74 years old.
