Marine Patrol retrieved a body from Gantt Lake this morning.

ALEA spokesman Trooper Kevin Cook confirmed that  a body has been recovered and is being taken to the Department of Forensics for positive identification.

On Monday, units searched for a missing kayaker, Brandon Hancock, for hours. Hancock’s fiancee, Erica Mitchell, told The Star-News Tuesday that she dropped Hancock and a friend off at Cypress Landing at about 1 a.m. Monday to fish. Hancock and his friend were separated on the water. Hancock’s kayak was found with some of his gear, but his flashlights and machete were missing.
