DTF, FPD catches pair with meth, crack in sting operation

An Opp pair is facing felony drug charges after a sting was set up Friday in Florala. The Florala Police Department and 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force arrested 47-year old Frank Lacey Jr. and 35-year old Sabrina Ward, both of Opp.
Florala Police Chief Sonny Bedsole said that FPD and the 22nd Judicial District DTF worked a joint operation after receiving information that Lacey and Ward would be delivering drugs to a specific location.
When Ward and Lacey arrived at the address, police arrested the pair in possession of 22 grams of crack cocaine, 10 grams of methamphetamine, 3 ounces of marijuana and $962 in cash.
Both were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana in the first degree. All three are Class-C felonies. They are being held on a $260,500 bond each in the Covington County Jail.
If convicted, they face up to two years to 20 years in prison per charge and fines up to $30,000 per charge.
