Saints take down Alabama Southern

The LBWCC Saints traveled to Phenix City on Thursday where the blasted Alabama Southern 13-1 in ACCC baseball action.

Chauncey Callier singled with two outs in the top of the second inning and later came around to score on an error to give the Saints a 1-0 lead.

In the top of the third inning, Matt Jones was hit by a pitch and Gunner Hendrix drew a two-out walk to set up Matt Christian at the plate.

Christian drove a line drive into left for a two-run double to put the Saints out front 3-0.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Saints pounced for 10 runs to push the game out of reach.

Hendrix drove in a Ko Powell to get things started for the Saints in the fifth.

As the Saints batted around, Powell came up for the second time in the inning and drove in Jackson Henderson with a single.

The final blow of the game came when Jones launched a three-run bomb over the fence in left to give the Saints a 13-1 lead.

Garrett Hollinghead picked up the win on the mound for the Saints with one earned run in five innings.
