Good Friday, the Friday before Easter Sunday, is the day on which the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated in the Christian Church.
Local church services include:
• Christ the King Catholic Church – Stations of the Cross, 3 p.m., and Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, 7 p.m.
• First Baptist Church Whatley Street will present “Messages from the Master” beginning at 6:45 p.m.
• St. Mary’s Episcopal Church – services at noon and 6 p.m.
• St. Michael’s Anglican Church – Good Friday services, 1 p.m.
• Southside Baptist Church – 6 p.m. service.
