Opp senior Hennis Washington had a big day Thursday in the T.R. Miller Tigers’ track and field meet in Brewton as he picked up a pair of first place finishes for the Bobcats.
Washington got the day started with a first place finish in the boys’ 100-meter dash, with a blistering time of 11.76 seconds.
The day wasn’t over yet for Washington as he grabbed another first place finish. This time it was with a time of 23.93 seconds in the boys’ 200-meter dash.
Opp’s Mason Davis earned a first place finish in the boys’ javelin finals with a final result of 133-01.00.
In the girls’ 200-meter dash, Straughn High School’s Sydney Kinsaul came in second place with a time of 30.02.
Straughn’s Ashley Hughes picked up a second place finish in the girls’ discus finals with a score of 77-5.00.
The Straughn Tigers got another second place finish when Samuel Driver clocked in with a time of 12:00:03 in the boys’ 3,200-meter run.
Driver finished in third place in the boys’ 800-meter run with a time of 2:22:15.
