Margaret Holmes Martin
Mrs. Margaret Holmes Martin, age 95, passed away Thurs., Feb. 16, at Andalusia Manor.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Meryane and Mark Murphy of Andalusia; grandsons and their wives, Martin and Susan Murphy and Michael and Kelli Murphy, all of Birmingham; and four beautiful great-granddaughters, Amelia Anne, Avery Grey, Clara Reed and Evans Catherine.
Born July 19th, 1921, in Fairfield, Ala., she was the only child of Albert Pearson Homes and Anna Pearl (Robinson) Holmes. She graduated from Fairfield High School, class of ’39. In 1940, she married her high school sweetheart, David W. Wright, and they moved to Tuscaloosa where they attended the University of Alabama. Following his death in the first invasion of Iwo Jima during WWII, she went to work at the Veterans Affairs Office in Miami.
In 1950, she married Dr. Richard F. Martin. They made their home in Nashville, Tenn., where he was employed as the chief of psychology at the Veterans Administration. Mrs. Martin worked at Vanderbilt Hospital and later for many years at the Speaker’s Office of the Tennessee State Legislature. As a volunteer, she worked tirelessly to help the Tennessee Dance Association and served many times as its president. She was also a long-time member of the Hillwood Garden Club.
Following the death of Dr. Martin, she moved to Andalusia, where she was a devoted supporter of Andalusia Ballet.
The family will gather privately. Memorials may be made in her name to The Andalusia Ballet Association, Inc.
Carolyn Ingram Smith
Mrs. Carolyn Ingram Smith, 90, of Andalusia, passed away Friday February 17, 2017 at Andalusia Manor.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday February 20th from Foreman Funeral Home with Brother Wayne Sharpe and Brother Doyle Prescott officiating, interment will be in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens in Opp. Visitation will be at 10 AM Monday at Foreman Funeral Home.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Linda Ingram of the Rawls community; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenda and Billy Joe Turner of the Rawls community, Gail and Clifford Cook of Gantt; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Inez Ingram; her husband, Lindsey Smith; and a brother and sister-in-law, Elbert and Geraldine Ingram.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
Pallbearers will be Duane Ingram, Tony Turner, Ken Harris, Jerry Ward, Hunter Turner, Bill King.
Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Wayne Turner.

Bettie Jo Haynes
Mrs. Bettie Jo Haynes, age 84, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Feb. 19, 2017, at Florala Health and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wed., Feb. 22, 2017, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Trent officiating. Interment will follow in Old Bethel Cemetery, Crestview. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at Foreman Funeral Home from 5:30-7 p.m.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tim Trent of Andalusia and Sharron and David Ungemach of The Colony, Texas; two sons, Ricky Hayes of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Sean Haggert of San Diego, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Donald A. Bryant
Mr. Donald A. Bryant, 84, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Feb. 17, 2017, at Andalusia Hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tues., Feb. 21, from Foreman Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Britton, Curtis Holland, and Wesley Jeffcoat officiating. Interment will follow in Mr. Gilead Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Thelia Holland Bryant of Andalusia; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald A. and Linda Bryant of North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Joe Edgar of Illinois; four grandchildren, Kelli (Clay) Goedeke, Kim (Chris) Bradley, Brendon D. Bryant, and Wyatt A. Bryant; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joe Paul Bryant of Valley Grove, Ala. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bury A. and Nora Bryant.

Cliff Thomas
Mr. Cliff Thomas, age 69, of Andalusia passed away Sat., Feb. 18, 2017, at the Andalusia Hospital.
Funeral services were held Mon., Feb. 20, at West Highland Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Eddie Gossett officiated. Burial followed in the Bradley Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.
The family received friends Sunday at Keahey Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Thomas; sons, Clifford S. Thomas, III., Jeffery Thomas, Kevin Henderson and Carlos
Henderson; sister, Eve Rametta; grandchildren, Ariel
Thomas, Randy Henderson, Gavin Henderson, Seth Richardson and Jacob Richardson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Graham Thomas and William A. Thomas.
DAVID K. PEACOCK, SR.
David K. Peacock, Sr., age 63, passed away Feb. 2, 2017, in a Dothan hospital.
He was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Carol Parrish Peacock; five sons, Donald Wilson (Tera), David Keneth Jr. (Marly), William, James (Amy), and Christopher; five grandchildren, Sydney, Alyssa, Tristan, Jackson and Gavin.
