Leslie Ann Scott Lanier

Mrs. Leslie Ann Scott Lanier, age 69, of Andalusia, passed away on Wed., Jan. 11, 2017, at her residence.

She was born on April 07, 1948, in Greeley, Colo., to Robert F. and Margaret Stokeld Scott. She later moved to Montgomery, where she was a Lee High School graduate. She moved to Andalusia in 1973. She worked a variety of different jobs including Covington County Bank; owner and operator of her own home daycare for 15 years; Andalusia Mental Health; and most recently at Sitel.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sat., Jan. 14, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Garry Winstead officiating the service. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services in the chapel.

Mrs. Lanier is survived by her husband of 48 years, Grady Lanier of Andalusia; daughters and son-in-law, Margaret Lanier of Andalusia and Elizabeth and Ben Courson of Opp; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Michelle Lanier of Savannah, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Whitney and Cameron Lanier, Anna Kate, Caroline, and Cole Courson, Katie and Christopher Lanier; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Laurie and Tom Peacock and Lynda and John Umberger, all of Ocala, Fla.

Wilbur Edwin DeForest

Mr. Wilbur Edwin DeForest, 86, of Andalusia, passed away Wed., Jan. 11, 2017, at Mizell Memorial Hospital.

Mr. DeForest had a lifelong love of woodworking and gardening.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Sat., Jan. 14, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Trip Jones and Jason Green officiating the service. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife, Alice DeForest of Andalusia; daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn DeForest of Pensacola, Fla., and Janet and Greg Barber of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Alma Foster of Lamar, Colo.; and nephew, Roger Foster of Lamar, Colo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Myra DeForest.

Pallbearers will be Luke Popwell, Larry Popwell, Bobby Johns, John Evers, Elliot Marshall, and Tim Donaldson.

Ralph Dallas Kelley

Mr. Ralph Dallas Kelley, age 66, of Red Level, passed away Wed., Jan. 11, 2017, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sun., Jan. 15, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tyler Ingram and the Rev. Billy Boles officiating the service. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:30-8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Larecia Kelley of Red Level; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa K. and Jerry Hudson of Red Level; two grandchildren, A.J. Hudson and Trey Hudson; sister, Virginia Polly Stonestreet of Mobile; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Daniel and Jean Kelley of Excel, and Michael and Kathy Kelley of Evergreen.

Michael Wade Hugghins

Michael Wade Hugghins, 54, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Jan. 7, 2017, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 13, 2017, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in Longbranch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30-1 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Mr. Hugghins is survived by daughter, Brittany Lynn Hugghins of Georgiana; mother, Faye P. Hugghins of Red Level; brothers, Rockford S. Hugghins of Oxford, Ala., Jeffery T. Hugghins of Pell City, Ala., and Thomas B. Hugghins of Andalusia; nieces, Jessica Roxanne Hugghins and Andrea Faye Hugghins; great niece, Pricilla Paris Sparks; and great nephew, Parker Garrett Hugghins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Mr. McRhee Hugghins.

Cleatus B. Maddox

Mr. Cleatus B. Maddox, 92, of Andalusia, passed away Wed., Jan. 11, 2017, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Fri., Jan. 13, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Travis Day officiating. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 Thursday at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Maddox of Andalusia; one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Maddox and Grady Melvin of Freeport, Fla.; two step-daughters and son-in-law, Angie Anderson and Dianne and Ronnie Hart of Andalusia; his grandchildren, James G. Melvin II of Wheeling, Minn., Gabriella M. Thomson of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., James A. Melvin of Freeport, Fla.; a brother, Leland Maddox of Atlanta, Ga.; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

James Milton Davis

James Milton Davis, 70, of Andalusia, went home to be with the Lord on Wed., Nov. 23, 2016.

He was born in Lockhart on Jan. 22, 1946, where he grew up.

He moved to Andalusia 35 years ago.

He worked for a number of years at Piggly Wiggly in Andalusia and Greenville.

He is remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as a friend to all who knew him.

During his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, had a heart for animals and loved beautiful scenery, especially the mountains.

On Saturdays during the fall, he was always pulling for the Tide.

He fought a short, but courageous battle with cancer and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his children, Dennis (Katrina) Davis; Stacey (Christy) Davis; Kevin Davis and Heather (Curtis) Russell; grandchildren, Kendra Majors, Eric (Maklyn) Kilpatrick, Chris Kilpatrick(Kortni), Ashley Beck, Austin Davis, Taryn Davis, Christian Davis, Jonathan Davis, Timothy Davis and Cameron Russell; and four great-grandchildren, Kenleigh Bolling, Addyson Kilpatrick, Gabriel McClendon and Kyla Kilpatrick.

He is also survived by his sisters, Frances Turner and Doris McCartha.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Jan. 14, 2017, at Pleasant Home Baptist Church.

Chris Kilpatrick, Doug Geohagan and the Rev. Fred Kelley will officiate.

 

 

Madison Reeves Long

Mr. Madison Reeves Long, age 70, of Andalusia, passed away on Sun., Jan. 08, 2017, at his residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sat., Jan. 14, from Salem Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:30-8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

He is survived by his children, Joseph Long, Timothy Long, Jeff Laflamboy, Donnie Laflamboy, and Tina Dreier; siblings, Nancy Hayman, Sheila Kight, and Tommy “Joe” Long; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Sinna Long, and siblings, Rosco Long, Jim Long, Woodie Long, Jr. Long, Betty Henderson, and Janie Mcnish.

Pallbearers will include: Joseph Long, Timothy Long, Jeff Laflamboy, Donnie Laflamboy, Matt Long, and Daniel Long.

Lillie G. McKinley

Lillie G. McKinley, 81, a resident of Andalusia, formerly of Coy, Ala., died at her residence Sat., Jan. 7, 2017. The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 10, 2016 at New Providence Baptist Church in Coy, AL at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Randy Adams officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Coy Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. McKinley was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey McKinley, and parents, Pat and Clemmie Godbold. She is survived by her grandson, Aubrey Wayne Capers of Andalusia; daughter, Nora Boutwell of Andalusia; son, Aubrey Allen McKinley (Geneva) of Coy, Ala.; grandchildren, Jessica Boutwell, Birdie Frazier (Tony) and Lester Dale Boutwell, Jr. all of Andalusia; six great-grandchildren; brother, Rip Godbold of Thomasville, Ala., and many nieces, nephews and friends.
