An Opp woman who pleaded guilty last year to rape II was arrested Tuesday for failing to register as a sex offender and violation of probation, according to reports.
Tiffany Blair, 36, was arrested in January 2015 for allegedly having sex with a minor child, providing illegal drugs to a minor child and using illegal drugs in the presence of a minor child.
Blair pleaded guilty last November before her case even went to the grand jury.
She was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Blair was granted a split sentence of one-year, followed by probation for the balance.
She was initially charged with four counts of chemical endangerment, rape II and sodomy II.
Rape in the second degree is a Class B felony.
According to Star-News archives, the case was initiated after Blair admitted to friends she was involved in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy, who was a friend of her son.
The Opp Police Department and Covington County Department of Human Resources conducted a joint investigation, interviewing multiple witnesses.
When OPD Investigator Heather Koerner questioned both Blair and the 15-year-old boy, they admitted to having sexual intercourse several times.
Upon release from prison, Blair was supposed to comply with the sex offender registration and notification act.
Blair was one of five women arrested last year on sex abuse charges in Opp.
Other women were Mandi Briana Harrison, Chelsea Calhoun, Kristina Burroughs and Ashley Nelson Hall.
They are all pending trial.
