Locals who want to take full advantage of Springdale on Ice can do so on Thursday night for a special rate.

Chrissie Duffy, executive director of the Andalusia Area Chamber of Commerce, said Monday that with the outpouring of interest in the skating and snow tubing, they are now offering unlimited skating and snow tubing on Thursday night.

“For the enjoyment of our families and teens, we’re hosting a Thursday night special at Springdale,” Duffy said. “From 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., this Thursday night only, you can take advantage of three hours of unlimited snow tubing and ice skating for one charge of $15.”

Thursday’s prices are discounted from the Friday, Saturday and Sunday rates, when there is a $5 charge for an hour of skating and $5 charge for three slides down the Springdale Summit Polar Bear Tubing Hill.

“As usual, cottage play and train rides are free and there is no admission free to enter,” she said. “We decided to offer a discount after seeing how much fun the kids were having on the slide. Thursday nights are not as crowded and should offer the perfect setting for a great, high energy evening.”
