Great run, Bulldogs

The Andalusia High School Bulldogs’ football season didn’t end the way players, coaches and fans had envisioned, but the whole community has much of which to be proud.
The team’s run in the AHSAA playoffs unified the community in ways not often seen. Even regular-season foes from the area cheered for the locals as they continued to advance.
The turnout for games, community support at weekly pep rallies, and signs plastered throughout the town are representative of the pride local residents have felt. When several hundred people show up on Thanksgiving night for a pep rally – and stay long after the cheering is over – you know the community is all in.
The Star-News has been proud to be a part of the excitement. We extend our thanks to the City of Andalusia, the Andalusia Police Department, Skip Enzor, and Space Walk of Andalusia for their help in making the pep rally events extra special.
To the students who’ve made this season so memorable for all of us, we encourage you to hold your heads high. Coach Trent Taylor said last night, “We’ll be back here.” We believe him, and we’ll all be right there with you.
Congrats on a great season. You made us very proud. #that’swhy
