Covington Electric Cooperative (CEC) is deeply committed to community involvement. The co-op annually supports charitable efforts, organizations and schools with one major goal in mind: To enhance the quality of life for its members. Member surveys indicate CEC should support education and other community-related efforts within its service area.
CEC recently contributed $100 to teachers at every school it serves electrically to use in their classrooms for supplies this year. This is the sixth year that CEC has contributed funds to teachers within its service area. Schools served by CEC include: Pleasant Home School, Brantley School, Straughn High School, Straughn Middle School, Straughn Elementary School, Red Level High School, Red Level Elementary School, Fleeta School, Kinston School, Samson High School, Samson Middle School, and Samson Elementary School.
“We realize the challenges facing our schools are great and we sincerely appreciate the work our teachers and administrators continue to do on a daily basis,” said CEC General Manager Ed Short. “It is our hope that this donation will remind local educators that leaders in the community value their efforts,” he added.
