The Andalusia Termite Bulldogs came away with a big 30-0 win over the Opp Bobcats Tuesday night at Andalusia High School.
“I thought we started a little slow, but we picked it up in the second quarter,” Bulldog head coach Michael Jackson said. “Our defense played great tonight. We didn’t give up a single first down.”
After a defensive struggle to start the game, Andalusia’s Jamarion Burnette raced into the end zone from 20 yards out to put the Bulldogs on top 6-0.
After forcing another punt, Andalusia’s Carter Metcalf sprinted into the end zone from 65 yards out. Brunson Wilson went straight up the middle to add the two-point conversion.
A few minutes later, Burnett hit the edge and torched the Bobcats for a 36-yard touchdown run.
Elijah Landrum then raced around the edge to tack on the two-point conversion to give Andalusia 22-0 lead just before halftime.
Both defenses stood tall in the third period and kept the score at 22-0 heading into the final quarter.
The Bulldogs added one score in the fourth quarter when Wilson pitched the ball to Burnette, who then sprinted up the sideline for a 45-yard touchdown run.
Wilson punched it straight up the middle to add the two-point conversion.
