Special 9/11 services planned

Tomorrow, Sun., Sept. 11, marks 15 years since al-Qaeda, an Islamist extremist group, carried out four coordinated terrorist attacks on the United States.
The attacks killed 2,977 people.
A number of events are planned locally to remember those who died, and honor those first responders who continue to serve.
• First United Methodist Church will honor first responders at its 11 a.m. service.
• Shut the Doors Sunday worship service will begin at 10 a.m. on the Court Square in Andalusia with Chaplain Larry Carter as guest speaker.
• A memorial service for 9/11 victims and their families is set for 2 p.m. at the VFW #4388.
